No. Tandlo is parent-led. It reads what your school already publishes, such as newsletters, term dates and notices, and organises it for your family. Schools do not sign up, install anything or gain another channel to manage. If your school is not listed, add it with a link and Tandlo will tell you what it can find.
No. Keeping your usual calendar is the point. Today you can subscribe to calendar feeds and export your Tandlo plans (.ics) to Apple, Google, Outlook or any other calendar. Signed-in Google, Apple and Outlook connections are in development. Each will state exactly what it reads, what it writes and when it last synced.
No, and we won't pretend otherwise. What you can do is share or paste a specific message, such as a party invitation or a club notice, into Tandlo, review what it understood, and save it as a plan. You choose every message that comes in. Nothing is read in the background.
To understand the content you give it (a pasted invitation, a school newsletter) and turn it into structured plans. That uses Azure AI with your messages and your family's names. Tandlo shows the sources so you can check them, flags anything uncertain for review instead of guessing, and never adds or shares anything until you choose. Where a suggestion came from automation, it says so: "Suggested from the newsletter. Check the date."
Only the adults you have given access, per child. Plans start private to your household. When you share something, whether an invitation, a club plan or a pickup with a grandparent, you pick exactly which details go and to whom, and you can revoke access. A child's school or club membership is never visible to other families by default, and an RSVP never grants access to your family calendar.
Yes. It is designed for it. Children can belong to more than one household, each adult has their own account and permissions, and nobody is assumed to be "the" organiser. A change of who collects a child always needs explicit acceptance by the relevant adults. Acknowledging an alert never quietly reassigns responsibility.
Early access is free while we build with pilot families. We expect a household subscription eventually, and we will work out the price with the pilot families rather than spring it on them.
